First-time poster here. My son is weighing his options as the May 1 decision deadline nears. He is interested in a career in medicine and has been accepted into various schools including University of Delaware where he has been offered the DuPont scholarship (full-ride for 4 years). I was hoping to get some input from current UD students who are pre-med, applying to med school either through the Medical Scholars Program or via the HESAC program. We are wondering specifically about the opportunities for volunteer and clinical practicum placements in the Newark area and how likely it would be for someone from UDel to get in to a U.S. med school assuming stellar grades and decent MCAT scores. Statistics on admit rates and number of med school applicants from UDel are not readily available.

Any and all info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your assistance!
