Questions about Units on Uc app.

okay soo then last week or so when i submitted my app, i got something like this:

Verify Units/Applicant Level
You have indicated that you are applying as a Junior level transfer student. The number of units you've reported (57 semester units/85.5 quarter units) does not meet the minimum required for the level you selected. The minimum number of units required for your level is 60 semester units/90 quarter units.
Check box to confirm that this is what you intended to submit.

but when i inputted the same info on my TAG application, it said i had 60 units. i was wondering if it was because I got a D in one of my classes (it was 5 units) and so they deducted 3 units from it?

what i did in the end was add another class as Planned to my spring semester and met the 60 unit requirement...

i was wondering if i was wrong to have added another class and if i should have just checked the box instead? o.o
thanks!

The minimum grade you can receive in any course, for it to be considered as a X unit class, is a C. So D’s and F’s do not transfer over.

But, unless the course is either retaken for a for a better grade or you petition for academic renewal those grades will drag down your gpa.

ahh okay i get it now. thank you for the help!
