Questions/Answers

hi again,
M,m,m,m, before I offer an opinion about the Newark/ Allentown drive, I want to check with my cousin who is very familiar with Newark Airport. My gut reaction is to say "yes" definitely, but traffic in northern NJ can be REALLY bad.

Did you drive the 76 through Philly to get to NorthEast Extension, or take the blue route ( the one that goes by Villanova, Swarthmore, Haverford?)

There were so many accidents along that NE extension this past weekend, hope you DID not get caught in that!

Glad she likes her roomie- and, is enjoying orientation. The rooms are smallish, and not air conditioned, but very soon Allentown will get very cool at night.

D said that the school has a larger than anticipated Freshmen enrollment- yield is up! A good thing, but not good for housing.

We flew right into Allentown, so we did not experience any traffic at all, except delays in Atlanta. If we fly into Newark, or Philly we can fly on a nonstop, which is much more appealing. (In June we flew into Philly and took the 76, but I was stressed driving, as we are perhaps are a bit more laid back driving here in CA)

I just read that the overenrollment has resulted in some kids ending up in lounges, and triples. Sounds like tight quarters. Luckily we got our deposit in early enough to end up with a double. And the size, compared with my son's old dorm room at Uni of Oregon is palacial. Of course, U of O was #1 on the Dorms like Dungeons ranking at that time.
