Questions: blue book test 4

Hi guys, can you help me with a few questions i have from the fourth practice test in the blue book (mostly CR)? I am not going to type out the CR questions since you will need your blue book handy to look at the passages anyway. Help on any is appreciated!!!

Section 2, #20: The answer is (C) which means statements I and II are true. But I simply can't find any evidence in passage 2 to support "Humanitarian Concerns" as a motive for travel. "Missionary work" is mentioned, but this is not necessarily humanitarian is it?

Section 5, #20: The answer is (E), but isn't the statement "some dream imagery has its source in the dreamer's personal life" a contradiction of lines 31-32? Wouldn't (C) be a better answer since it suggests that the human fear of the world at night is ridiculous since dangers occur during the day?

Section 8, #9: The answer is (D), which is understandable. Still, what is wrong with choice (C)?

Section 8, #10: The answer is (D). I do not understand the meaning of the answer choice or the lines refrenced.

Section 8, #14: The answer is (E). Why is it not (D), which seems to be supported by lines 52-64?

Section 6, #15: umm, don't know what to do.

Section 6, #18: Seems to be a permutation, and the answer is 72, so (4)(3)(2)(2)=72 seems like a logical explanation. But I don't know how to get those numbers, if they're even correct.

Don't feel pressure to anwer all the questions. 1 is better than none.

I’ll answer the math questions 'cause I’m too lazy to read the passages

15) put the given on the drawing.
QS = 1, QV = 3 (deduction 1, SV = 2).
PT = 3, PR= 4 (deduction 2, RT = 1)

area PST = 1/2 b x h = 1/2 x 3 x 2 = 3
area PQR = 1/2 x 4 x 3 = 6

3/6 = 1/2

18) we have 5 slots we can’t have one of them at either ends, and apparently we can’t re-use any card cause we’re just arranging them.

4 x _ x _ x _ x 3

so we already used 2 cards of the 5 so we got 3 options left.

4 x 3 x 2 x 1 x 3

Thanks for the help.
Anyone for the reading??

Hi, I just finished the BB Test 4, might be able to help with some CR questions.

Section 8, #9: C says that the cultural critiques (on dangers of reading novels) were ONCE PERSUASIVE. But the passage did not mention that these had been persuasive. Line 23 actually says “vain warnings”, meaning that the people then were not persuaded by these critiques and that such warnings against reading novels were not heeded.

Section 8, #10: Question is asking why the author referred to the criticism against reading novels. Lines 21-24 are showing a comparison between how people are against watching TV now and how people were resisting novels back then. So we can generalise that people tend to resist new forms of expression (novels back then and TV now), hence D is correct because it says that the author wants to “expose narrow-minded resistance to new forms of expression”

Hope that makes it clearer!

Thanks a lot
