First of all, how long does cornell days last? Do you have to stay for the entire time frame? Is it mandatory?

Second. Is it true that Cornell gives students from warm climates a grant to buy winter clothes. I'm from Los Angeles so the warmest thing I own is a zip up hoodie

Hey congrats on your acceptance!! Cornell Days is from April 11-23. You usually come for around two days. I would recommend getting hosted with a student during your stay from the Red Carpet Society. And no, Cornell Days are not required; they are just a great opportunity for accepted students to get to know Cornell and their future classmates. Good luck!

Also, I have no idea about the second part of question. I’m from Upstate New York. But, it has actually been pretty warm this year. I think today is supposed to 60 and sunny.

I’m just guessing, but I would suppose that the grant to buy winter clothing might be for students who are getting a large amount of financial aid (in other words, the lack of available money to buy a coat and boots might actually keep them from being able to go to Cornell.)

The one-time coat allowance is still allowed for FA students that put in a request for it. The weather this year has been unusually mild. It can and usually does, in fact, get very cold and snowy here.
