We will be at unified in Chicago. Considering that there isn’t much time allotted in your time slot, how much do they speak with you? What are some of the typical questions that the auditors might ask?
I think how much time each student gets depends on the school … all of my daughter’s Chicago schools had her block out at least a few hours for each call.
It definitely varies by school. My daughter mostly had a question or two for her schools at Chicago. Only a couple had sit down interviews. But her most common questions were “Why our school?”, “Why Musical Theatre?”, “Why did you pick (a particular song)?” and “What sets you apart from the other auditionees?”. But each school is different and questions can vary widely by program.
I agree with the above, and also want to emphasize that it’s SO important to have an answer for the question “Why our school?” In addition to all your notes on audition requirements etc. for each school, also have a few notes about what you LIKE about each school that you can review before the audition. Schools like to know that you’re familiar with their program and have clear reasons why it’s a good fit for you.
