I understand that students accepted to the Electrical Engineering program can specify Computer Engineering after the first two years of study. I’m just wondering whether Computer Engineering at UT Austin is technically an impacted major, with EE students competing for limited room after sophomore year? If so, does anyone know what percentage of hopeful CE students are accepted into the major for their junior year?
Beyond this, do Cockrell Engineering students have time for extracurriculars, friends, a normal life outside of studying? I know that the studying time can be overwhelming in engineering programs in general. Just wondering how this balance manifests for most students at Cockrell.
