Questions on Acceptance to Oxford

If you apply to Oxford right now, the earliest you can start your degree will be October 2011 (i.e. more than a year from now). Is that what you had in mind?

If you do get those IB grades, I think they will be sufficient for the main undergrad degree at the business school (Economics & Management). The subject choices are also OK (specialization can count against you in business, so the IB is actually good preparation). Unfortunately, though, you didn’t take Math at HL, which apparently Oxford strongly recommend:

[See this link](http://www.sbs.ox.ac.uk/degrees/baem/Pages/Howtoapply.aspx)

You will need to show you have good math skills in some other way (I’m not sure a 7 at SL is enough). If your Economics HL was highly quantitative, emphasize that. Econ & Management is one of the most selective subjects at Oxford, so you can’t go in looking weak on either math skills or writing skills.

How you come across at interview is extremely important, too. I can’t emphasize that enough. Good luck if you do apply!
