<p>Yes: almost all very selective schools require subject tests. Engineering programs generally require scores in specific subject areas. I believe Princeton still requires three different subject tests. For many schools, two is enough. Each school will have a specific guideline about this noted in its application materials. As a junior it is more than soon enough for you to take any subject test for which you’ve completed the material (e.g., bio/math 1-2/US history).</p>
<p>A common exception on taking SAT IIs, though not absolute by any means, is that some schools don’t require SAT IIs if you submit the ACT.</p>
