I've sent e-mails to the corresponding department in Columbia, and I haven't been getting any replies. I thought I'd ask around here, instead.

High school is 3 years long here, does that mean I have to get a copy of my 9th grade transcript from middle school?

Do I send the transcripts myself, or does someone at school have to do it for me? I highly doubt that the faculty of my school will bother. I'd have to travel back and forth from my high school to where I live 150 miles at a time to make sure they are getting **** done.

Do I have to have my transcripts translated into English? Can I do the translation myself?

If I've only been charged but not convicted of a crime, I don't need to mention it, do I?

We don't have guidance counselors, can I get away with writing that I'm my own??

I am dealing with the very same issues as you. Where are you from? I am from the Czech Republic.

We have four years of high school, but before that nine years of elem and middle school. They want the reports from 9-12, but I will be submitting only those from actual high school (10-13). I think you should send high school transcripts only.

Regarding the translation - you must get them translated and verified by some "authority" (a lawyer in my case). You can't do the translation yourself. The same applies to the teachers' recommendations.

Have you checked your Spam folder? Some messages from them might have accidentally landed there.

You can't translate the forms by yourself, but you can ask your English teacher to translate it to save some money. Just write something like "translator, his/her name" and ask them to sign it. If he/she is an authorized translator, even better. This is how I do.

And if you don't have a guidance counselor, some school official, like the principal or the teacher in charge with your class if you have any, must complete those forms.

Columbia still uses telephones

They're not going to do a police check

I got my 9th and 10th grade results from school considering "high school" where I live is only 11 and 12. Call up your school and ask them to send it to you. REMEMBER it has to be printed on the school letterhead. If they make photocopies, make sure they stamp with the school stamp and sign it. Officiality of documents is important.

You cannot write your own recommendation. If you don't have a counselor, take angelutza's advice.
