<p>Hi I'm an entering first year student at UVA class of 2018 and planning to apply to Comm school during second year.
I know its a bit early, but I wanted to ask current Comm-school students regarding first year course selections.
As I was looking through courses at UVA, I started to wonder if it's a good idea to place out of classes using AP credits.
For example, I have a 5 on AP Stats and I can place out of STAT 2120. However, I kinda want to retake the course partly because I want decent GPA and want to have a thorough review at the college level. Same with econ. I have 5 on it and I still want to retake the introductory course.</p>
<p>My question is, would it look bad to the Commerce admissions office if I retake the courses that I can place out of? Would they think I'm one of those who only seek for easy path and don't challenge myself? Maybe I'm overthinking, so can anyone please advise me?</p>
<p>Also, I would appreciate it if you could list the courses you took during your first year at UVA.</p>
