questions

I’m a sophmore in college pursuing a major in civil engineering, and have decided that i want to apply at the afa. i know i wouldnt be able to enter until fall 2008 and i could already be a junior in college, but im not satisfied with this average life ahead of me. Ever since ive began looking into the academy it is all ive been able to think about.

in high school i was a member of the national honor society and FFA,capt. of a state championship football team, two time capt. of conference champion wrestling team(same years I was capt.) and a member of the track team. I got a 3.85 gpa in high school but am now getting a 4.0 in college. I got a 28 on my ACT my junior year but didnt take the writin part, so I’m retaking it as well as am taking the SAT for the first time in Febuary. Im trying to get more envolved with extracurricular activities by joining a kickboxing club and a organization that does community service(i want atleast 100 hours before applying). Im also already part of the ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers). I’m in pretty good shape and train almost daily for the CFA. I just began trying to contact my aol today so hopefully i will be able to make contact soon.

Getting into the academy has become so important to me that i have decided that im going to do anything in my power to keep them from having a reason to decline my application. With the info ive given and if i can get a good score on the act/sat, what do you think my odds are of getting in? what else can i do to make myself more desirable to the academy? Also, how much does my high school past effect me? thank you so much!

The 4 digs ought to respond to this but from my point of view you don't want to go through life with nagging regrets or "what ifs." Your bio looks very competitive to me. Hope you do it.

I'd say you're very competitive to get in. Keep up the hard work and I'm sure you'll be good to go.

Not so sure on the college to USAFA application process, someone else is better suited for that.

thanks for the feed back. i dont know what i was thinking at the time i wrote that, i'm actually a freshman in college. oops
