Q1: How long does it usually take for the teachers to post our grades up? How come one of my grades is still not out yet? (the other 2 are posted.)

Q2: I was looking at my schedule for the spring quarter and I noticed I have class at a classroom called "Humn Lecture 206". I looked over the campus map but did not seem to find it. I wonder if anyone can tell me where that is!! ( I am still kinda new. It is only my second quarter at UCSC =P )

Q3: A student once told me that I can register over 19 units if I have had a over 3.0 GPA in the previous quarter. Is that true? I dont even have to go the advisor?? I wanna take 4 classes in spring because I wanna see if I can handle 1 more class and I am kinda behind.

I'd appreciate any help or insight!! thanks.

Q1: It can take up to all of spring break, especially if your professor has to grade a giant stack of essays or essay form tests. They usually have the grades up before classes start for spring quarter.

Q2: Humn Lecture 206 is probably a lecture room on the second floor of the Humanities building at Cowell/Stevenson. It’s the big new building at the intersection of Hagar and McLaughlin, above the Bookstore. You should check with a current student though, the building was just being finished when I graduated.

Q2: variola was correct, the humanities building is right where he/she directed you. (i’m a freshman at ucsc currently).

Q3: No, you can only sign up for 19 units without seeing an advisor. Most students take 15 so thats already 4 more than usual. If you want to do even more than that (be prepared thats ALOT of work in such small amount of time) you’d have to see an advisor no matter what your GPA is.

Q3: If you have a solid GPA (>3.0 I think) you can enroll in up to 22 units on the first day of classes. Unless they have changed the policy, you don’t need to talk to your counselor or do any paperwork.

And just in case a visual helps understand the directions others have already given… See the two buildings that have “Humanities and Social Sciences Facility” written over them? The building to the right is where HUMN LECTURE 206 is. It’s huge. You cannot miss it.

Warning: birds like to disrupt classes in this lecture hall. But it made the Living Writers sessions very interesting this past quarter.

Humanities lecture hall is the only lecture all in the humanities area/building. It will be the first building you hit when you arrive at the Humanities area. It is directly across the street from the parking lot. I hope this makes sense.
