Queston about HESC TAP financial aid

I know for FAFSA it is strongly recommended to file ASAP even if you haven’t filed your taxes yet, but is it the same for TAP? A few of the questions, such as “What type of pension income did Parent 1 and/or Parent 2 have in 2015?” can only be answered if I have the actual filed taxes in front of me, but my parents haven’t filed their taxes yet. So should I wait to apply for TAP? Or would they allow me to apply now and make corrections later, like how they do for FAFSA?

Side note: I’m going into my second semester of college this spring, so I have filed for TAP before, I can’t remember what I did last year (and my college tells me to file them every year).

Thanks in advance!

You don’t need the actual filed taxes in front of you to know what type of pension income your parents had in 2015.

Sorry, I meant to copy the question (for lack of a better word) asked that came after that one I posted, which was “Pensions from state, local or federal government from line 26 of your parent’s IT-201 Tax form…” For that one (and several other questions after), I have to type in an amount.

But yeah, my question still remains unanswered :frowning:

Are your parents retired/collecting a pension? If so, how much is the total of the monthly check (s)? Can you find a December payment stub?
