Quick Question About GPA

Hey guys, I was wondering whether or not Harvard looks at the GPA average of all 4 years of high school or just your senior years.
I'm an international student so I'm not familiar with GPA and how it works.
I'm going to grade 11 this September, and so far my marks are currently in the mid-high nineties (100 in business), with an occasional course within the high 80s. I'm afraid that those courses would bring my final GPA mark down, so any help in this subject would be much appreciated!

I'm new to this forum, so if this topic has already been discussed kindly redirect me to the topic.

Thanks!

They look at all 4 years. I’d recommend taking AP/IB classes to boost your GPA if you’re a bit worried. Just don’t slack your last year.

Well, colleges mostly focus on your junior and senior grades/gpa but they also look at all four years as a whole (sometimes each year separately) to determine whether you’ve improved or not.

Good luck!! :)

Thanks guys! So when colleges ask what your GPA is it’s really an average of all your course marks over 4 years.
My school only offers 2 AP courses, so will it handicap me in any way if my GPA is only a small margin over 4.0?

nope. they understand if APs are not available to you. There are kids who haven’t taken AP classes that have gotten in. Not a lot of them, because AP is usually offered to a lot of schools. But some of them have, who didnt have them. So you’ll be fine (:
