hey i was wondering if i have great ECs and 4.4 weighted UC gpa and the first time i got a 2070 on my SATs andthe second time a 1980, whether my chances would be weakened. i really want to go to berkeley ahah

pianolover25:

UCB: Slight Reach

so just because i got a lower score the second time this would make it a slight reach?

No. They will concentrate on 1st one. But your 1st SAT1 score isn't really helping you. I would say take an SAT prep course and concentrate on getting 2100+. Then I would say you have close to a match.

Berkeley is very difficult to get into.

I am estimating you have taken the hardest classes in your school as of yet, and your EC's are outstanding as you have mentioned.

hahah well i already applied. yeah my first SAT score isnt that great but i would say it is average for UCs. but my SAT2s are both 800 and my school is extremely competitive. like we have around 60 admitted out of 200 who apply to berkeley

so flopsy is that why now you put it as a slight reach? before you said it was a match. sorry for bothering, but i was just wondering...

I thought UCB/UCLA considered only your most recent taking of the SATs, not the highest score... if your score is considered as 2070 and not 1980, then:

UCB: Match

wow ive never heard that they look at the most recent scores. i am pretty sure its the highest but does anyone else know anything about this? thanks
