Quick Question About Transferring To a California Private College

I currently attend a Community College. I am not the strongest in math. It has always been my weakest subject and I have been working my way up in classes.

I want to transfer to Saint Mary's College of California. I was looking at their articulation agreement with my school about the GE's and they require 1 course of math(that they have selected).

My question is: - If I get accepted and transfer to SMC, can I take the 1 required course of GE math there instead of at my Community College?

Does that make sense?

I am going to ask my transfer counselor tomorrow just to make sure.

Please and thanks.

Bump

I feel I may be better suited on in a math class in a smaller, private setting. I feel that I could become more connected and able to ask questions in class due to the smaller class sizes and personal feel of a private universtiy.

I would post in the general transfer thread, this is the UC thread. Most of us aren’t familiar with the practices of private schools. For the specific info you need though, I recommend calling St. Mary’s.

I agree with Empathy. A counselor and a good attitude is your best bet. Good luck!

it depends on the agreement that SMC has with ur CC. how many units ur allowed to transfer over with, gpa etc etc… but if you can transfer over as a sophmore without ALL ge’s done, AND they offer that particular math course at SMC then yes.
