Quick question, I recently got an F for the quarter in one my my classes. I am already accepted to a few colleges, so I was wondering if they would see the F (i really don't want to get rescinded). I will have a C for the semester, so I am just worried about this quarter. Any comments?

Ask in your guidance office. Some HS put quarters grades on the transcript, and some only put semester grades. If they only put semester grades, you're in the clear.

Is dropping the class an option for you? I may be in a very similar situation...

yes, the college will see the F, and usually the college will wonder why u dropped to am F. however, i think the worst thing they might do is to send you a warning letter. However, i think the C is pretty much on the safe side. Be sure to make up a very good excuse for why your grade went down. it also depends on how much ur grades had actually dropped, DO NOT drop by more than 10 points.

^^wrong

My school, for example, only sent out semester grades and colleges never saw my quarter grades. I was in a similar situation to the OP and asked my GC and saw my transcripts before they were sent.

nvm... i totally looked over the QUARTER part.. sryzz

The general consensus seems to be that school's only send out semester grades so you should be fine.

Most schools do tend to send semester grades anyway; some, quarter grades.

I have a question. What do colleges count more, your weighted GPA or your unwieghted GPA?
Thanks!!

I think UW matters more.

UW def. matters more since so many schools don't weight. Many schools even calculate their own GPA by stripping your nonacademic classes.

hmmm thanks. that sucks. for some reason, ive spent all this time thinking that they'll consider my weighted gpa more. but whatever. its too late to do anything now.
