Quick question regarding TAP elegibility timeline

In order to be qualified for TAP, I need to take 5 honors classes. What if I take my fifth honors class in the spring before I transfer?

I'm at Irvine Valley College and I plan to transfer to UCLA. Obviously applications are due in November, and if I don't take my fifth honors class till January/b, then this means I won't have that honors designation on my transcript until - I suppose - May (or maybe January)? Either way, it's **after I've already applied and maybe even after UCLA makes its decision!

Can someone please clarify this? I'm deciding on whether or not to add an additional honors class to my already loaded schedule for this upcoming fall.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

I think you better finish them before you apply but still you can put it as "in progress" on your application. You should consult with counselors from both schools to confirm this.

I finished my last honors class in the spring before I transferred and I was tap certified. In Jan they will ask you for your spring classes, so you can list the honors classes you are taking then. Each CC might be different, so you should talk to your honors director about it.

I'm pretty sure it's okay to take the last honors course the spring before you transfer.

Yeah, there you go...but again you should always consult with your honor counselor because every CC has their own policy of handling things.
