Quick Question

I was wondering is it possible to attend one school during the normal academic year and then go a different school in the summer?

yes, but you have to get permission from your "normal" school in order for the credits to transfer.

check your school's rules--some won't let you do that when the "other" college is close by, or you are close to graduation

Depends. You will find that most public universities will accept summer credits from the state's community colleges as long as they are equivalent courses that go towards a degree, and the colleges usually have lists of equivalent courses. As to other colleges, rules vary.

A lot of people take summer school courses at community colleges & then transfer the credit.

I did the community college thing before hs grad, and was told I could continue that throughout college. Everything's sort of intertwined though, since it's all SUNY, which makes it easier.
