I go to Tulane University and I'm considering transferring next year. The only university I'm considering right now is Emory University and I was wondering if anyone knows the transfer rate? Are my chances good or bad of getting in as a transfer? I heard they accepted a large number of students and didn't have enough room to house them all, so that might affect whether or not I get in. I just need some information about this whole process. Thanks!

Since I am bored, I wandered over to collegeboard.com and looked it up for you:

121 accepted out of 351 applicants, or around 34.5%

I don't know any of the other specifics that you were inquiring about though.

I don't think the rate is that important, because for example, GWU is like around 25%. It is the quality of students applying to that school that's important. You might want to state your GPA and etc... for more specific answers.

So far I dont have any grades yet. I'll be transferring before my sophomore year so they'll still look at my high school records. I had a 4.0, 33 ACT, several APs, in the top 10 of my class of about 400. What other information do I need to tell you? (I'm new here.)

If I got into Emory before but decided I couldn't go there due to money, but now does that have anything to do with it, both harmful or not? If harmful, is there some way to recover?

Thanks.

You'll be fine. If Emory accepted you once, it is likely they will accept you again, especially if you continue to do well.

Emory won't hold it against you if you chose Tulane over it because of finances.
