is it going to be a problem applying to medical schools if i take gen bio and gen chem at a c/c? what i've read on these forums suggests that med schools do not look so kindly on the c/c credits. I was figuring tho if I did the very basics at a CC but then went on to ochem, biochem and advanced electives at a four year and did (very) well in those that it wouldnt be such a big deal?

I think you are fine as long as you take most of your science courses at the 4 year university (particularly the more advanced classes)

Of course it won't singlehandedly keep you out of medical school. But why would you ever start by putting yourself in a position where you know you have to do very well on everything else just to prove yourself?

In other words: why burn up your margin of error on something like this?

i've thought about just waiting until i transfer to start the med school stuff, but it seems impractical to transfer as a junior or a spring semester sophmore without anything finished...i would never be ready to take the MCAT the spring of my junior year. besides, going into medicine is all or nothing i think. either you're going to do it whatever the circumstances, no matter what it takes...or you're not going to do it at all. i was just worried that if i did any pre-med work at all at a c/c that they would junk my application.
