Tomorrow I'll be turning in my job applications to the several places I've applied to and hope to get at least one interview. The thing is that it's my dad's birthday on the 20th and I ABSOLUTELY need that day off; we've been planning the party for a while now and I have to be there. How would I go about bringing this up to my potential employer? Mention it at the end of the interview or wait until I am actually offered a job?

The 20th is a Saturday. Besides, chances are you won’t know anything before that anyway, so why worry?

If you have a schedule conflict the best thing is to communicate that when the schedule is being prepared, i.e. when interviews are being planned or start dates are being planned. If you get an interview tomorrow and offered a job to start next week just let them know that you have a prior engagement that requires your presence on the 20th and leave it at that, they’ll understand.
