Under Carnegie Mellon's ED policy, I can only apply to one of the schools. If rejected or deferred, can I RD to another school? Also, when they say a subject test in science is preferred for Tepper, will it hurt my admissions greatly if I don't take one?

With admissions to Tepper as competitive as they are the Adcom MAY deny admission to anyone who doesn’t have the required tests, or they could ignore that fact. Do you want to take the chance?

It’s not that. I’m just not very good at the subject tests offered for the sciences.

It seems like anything that’s “recommended” in the process is really mandatory - similar to, “we recommend that you write your essay about yourself, rather than your uncle, but you’re welcome to write it about your uncle-- in which case, we’ll be unable to accept you”.

Ohhhh, f**k. I hope they accept october test scorees then.
