Hey everybody,
I really want to apply to Barnard ED…I have a 4.0 gpa and many many extra activities. I’m taking an interview, and I have a CD that I’m bringing with me…so I’m not worried on that front. My SAT scores are a different story. Should I be worried with a 710 writing, 690 CR, and 650 math? That comes out to 2050. Also got a 740 on my US history SAT 2, and I’m taking literature in a week.

oh, and i know that it may seem strange to have a high gpa and not really high test scores, but i just never liked the sat. i took several ap classes last year and are taking more this year, and i did well on those tests. i don't know, it's just weird.

you're fine.

it's not strange to have a high gpa and not really high test scores. it happens to the best of us...and me. i hate the SATs.

but hey, you have your SAT II going for you.

if you really want to do well on a standardized test, try the ACT if you get the chance. you may see a difference.

thanks, crystalpine. yeah, what i liked about barnard is that they stressed to me that standardized test scores are not the top thing that they look at. i just want to feel comfortable rather than in a panic.

Definitely don't panic. Barnard does indeed look at the entire application and things other than just test scores. You must do your part, though, by presenting yourself through your application as a person who has interests and abilities that would fit in well at Barnard. Be sure to work carefully on those essays!
