On the GPA calculation for UC schools. What are the rules on adding a point. like how many do u get to add for sophomore year and junior year. If u dont understand what i meen, let me know i and i will try to re-word it

Add one point for every semester in an AP course that you passed with a C or above.

Add one point for every college CLASS that you have passed with a C or above, and that is UC:CSU transferable.

Add one point for every honors class ONLY IF THE CLASS HAS BEEN DEEMED HONORS BY THE UCs.

Any other questions?

Best bet is to read the information on calculating the UC GPA at www.ucop.edu/pathways. You can also find out which classes are UC approved for a-g and honors credit there. In general, classes termed "honors" taken in the 9th and 10th grade don't get the extra point. And, I believe there is a limit to the number of weighted courses that are included. Again, read up on the details.

Thanks, Carolyn. Even though it is my State U, I have my "beef" with UCOP.

dont really worry too much about uc gpa unless your intrested in elc. they dont ask you for it on your application.

If you are out-of-state, you get bonus points for all honors class, since they obviously could not have been UC-approved. The exceptions are 10th grade English and Math (Geometry), since none of these classes are UC-approved honors in California.
