I am not sure if this the right forum, so excuse me if I am wasting space.
I had a few questions about quiz bowl.
Has anyone personally started this club in there school themselves?
How many people can be on the team?
How much fundraising goes into this club?
Thanks !

1) No, but Team Captain (in effect…)
2) 4 can play at a time. I’d say a reasonable cap is 20.
3) None.

Make sure you practice, though, and talk to your school faculty about joining a conference.

what do the other 16 kids do if they are not on the team?

You switch them in for certain rounds.

For instance, you may have a math whiz that you want for part of one round, paired with the English and History people for the other parts of a round 9assuming those are what subjects are covered), and then you could switch them out for people that are strong in Geography, Current Events, Science, etc. for the next “round”. It is entirely determined by how your quiz bowl tournament is set up.

what if there is no quiz bowl in your state?

^Then you got problems. If you are near another state, (if you’re a resident of RI, for instance), maybe you could swing your way into another state, but if you’re in AK or HI, this endeavor won’t happen.

ok, cool. I am right next to a state that has it. Would they let our school join in anyways?
