Our high school screened it, and I went. It was pretty interesting. A bit over the top in places, but a lot of valid points. My kids go to a small independent private school; the top administrators were sitting watching with us. Unfortunately, the film is sort of long, so we did not have any discussion afterwards, people just left. We don’t have some of the worst excesses shown in the film at our school, but we sure have some of them. I’d suggest that you go. It is a good look at the treadmill we are putting our kids on, and raises some questions that everyone should think about regarding whether it is the best thing for them.

Don’t miss this film. It screened at our high school recently and really helped me to pull back and stop asking my d about schoolwork or college applications so often. She loved it too and we had some great conversations about education policy and what she would have changed about her educational experiences. It doesn’t matter if you agree with the point of view in the film; the conversation it started was priceless.
