The spectrum is okay, but south coast plaza is where it’s at 8). Its the only place where there’s a barneys nearby

You have to realize that there are literally international TOURISTS from all around the world that come to Orange County for the sole reason of going shopping and spending $100s of thousands of dollars there. Aside from the normal stores, if you go into the more expensive ones, the employees are trained to categorize you and see if helping you will really be worth their time (aka does it look like you have money? will you buy things? will they get a lot of commission off of you?). If you look like an average person and you aren’t dressed designer head-to-toe, a lot of those employees won’t even look twice at you. This attitude trickles down into the more moderate stores also just because of the location. Don’t blame all of CM lol.

Whenever you go to SCP, wear sunglasses inside and look kind of sketchy and I guarantee that the tourists will keep looking at you and trying to see if you’re famous lol.

***? got shot? this place aint safe! 7 years in a row? pssssh.

People get shot everywhere.

Edit: I was picking up a bridesmaid dress the other day and I saw that KittyChen is a wedding dress line? o_O

I’m going down to San Diego and LA in late July, I’m gonna try the sunglass thing. I got some Oakley ones that are clear green with green mirror lenses. That should be flashy enough to get me some love, haha. But if I wear my baggy pants and USC jersey too along with my gold chains, they’d probably arrest me for loitering. Hmm… I should wear that outfit too when I take my younger cousin to her UCLA orientation…

I’ve lived in central LA and Oakland for years. Hearing someone pop off some shots is normal. I guess it would be strange to hear some shots in a place like Irvine though.

oh what the, im OG kitty chen, even have the email @ gmail. ■■■■■.

but are those oakleys frogskins?

bloodyhell! now i need a new one. hell nah my post count is up.

Racism exists everywhere, get some tough skin and get over it. Now I’m not saying that racism is acceptable, I’m merely saying that it’s a fact of life, and you just gotta get over it. Irvine is not very racist, but I agree with many of the other posters in saying that it is extremely boring, and there is almost nothing to do.

If you’re scared of Irvine wait until you visit South LA

@benyvaio

w t f.

are you effing serious? what are you? do you even undergo any type of discrimination? have you ever knew what it felt like to be humiliated based upon the color of your skin? have you ever been identified incorrectly by the police because you matched the same basic description as a person the same ethnicity of you, “black male, blue jeans, short hair cut”.

get some thick skin, the eff? where do you live? this is where I live.

& im trying to escape it. i have to wear more thicker skin everyday than you probably had to live in you entire life & im initially from brooklyn, new york, east new york to be specific to anyone that knows the area.

■■■■■ at you thinking im one of these sheltered kids on here that don’t know of the terrors going on in the world.

why are you going off on a tangent about nothing to do, i didnt even ask anything like that sir, as i stated in the previous page, that matters nothing to me. “racism exists everywhere”, did you read the link i posted? allegedly people are harrasing people of my kind by screaming racial slurs at them, have you ever endured anything like that sir? “get over it”, ■■■■■.

i sir, am not trying to be another black statistic. hop off me.

The impression I got of Newport Beach was that people there really like to flash status symbols (e.g. exotically expensive cars, huge yachts docked next to waterfront mansions, etc.).

Nothing wrong with South LA. Like any other place you visit, mind your own business and you won’t be messed with, haha.

My mom/family is from Brooklyn… Flatbush lol

immigration ftw.

^def know. OMG flatbush, sunset park after dark. eeeeek.

ps accept my friend request

True story: one of my classmates gave me their email address to send them some notes and I was like why is this email/name so familiar? Oh yeah bc I reported them on CC and they got banned lol. Oops.

@UCkittychen

Yes, I’m serious. What I’m saying is racism is a part of life, and its unavoidable, no matter where you go.

I’m an Asian male, French nationality.

Yes, I’ve undergone some discrimination, probably not as much as you or other poster might have, but some. I moved to San Bernadino, CA at the age of 6~, didn’t speak English (only French), and as you know, San Bernadino is an area mainly populated with low income people of Black/Latino descent. Imagine being the only Asian kid in a school, in a new country, speaking French. I was made fun of, teased, messed with, just because I was of Asian descent. People made racist facial expressions at me, called me all kinds of racial slurs, so yes, people have harassed me over my ethnicity. People made fun of my French nationality as well, but that was in a light-hearted joking fashion.

I moved to a relatively wealthy area of Orange County (not Irvine), and haven’t experienced any discrimination since.

So yes, I guess you could consider me a “sheltered” kid, that doesn’t know about the problems of the world.

Also, I didn’t really read the link that you posted. I was merely responding to the topic on racism in Orange County. I live pretty close to Irvine, have friends that go to UCI, and I’ve yet to hear anyone complain about Irvine as a racist city. Boring perhaps, but not racist.

I really don’t know why you responded so hostile to my post, but I guess I didn’t read carefully enough.

because you said get tough skin not knowing i pretty much am trying to find the toughest alloyed skin to withstand this ignorance.

and you’re asian, you have POSITIVE odds against you, asians have racist jokes that make em look good, i.e. if you come home and see your homework done, street fighter beaten, etc. asians are stereotypically smart.

blacks are expected to fail. where you are you blend in, and you were 6. im 22 and im going to a university.

blah screw it.

apologizes if i was too hostile, but just how i interpreted your wording.

@UCkittychen

Its not that I’m trying to say that my situation is worse than yours, but many kids who are discriminated against when they’re young end up becoming racist, and harboring a deep hatred against those who discriminated against them.

Being Asian has its advantages I admit, but it also has its disadvantages. For example, we are held to a higher standard, more is expected of us, as though we were more capable than others, when it isn’t true (our good grades, hardworking can be mostly attributed to the Asian culture).

While I understand that I have not, and most likely will not ever experience the level of discrimination that you have, you should try and ignore those who feel the need to judge others by the color of their skin.

For example, if you were to drop out of your university, then you would just be reinforcing the stereotype that Blacks are expected to fail.

If you don’t mind me asking, what university are you going to? Feel free to PM me if you wish to continue this discussion privately.

@killmy -LOL. coincidences like that are just amazing.

sleep time in CA, almost 2am, be back in about 5 or 6 hours guys. time to nap.
