Racial issues in OC - "Irvine"?

but where do you want her to move?

He wants his mom to move to Oakland/Berkeley as he stated in post # 57

why are you still here?

working on some homework for political science and ran across this article:

[[UPDATED with Hate Crimes Down In OC, Or Are They?:] African-Americans Were Victims of One-Third of OC’s 2010 Hate Crimes: Report - Orange County News - Navel Gazing](http://blogs.ocweekly.com/navelgazing/2011/08/african_americans_orange_count.php)

UCkittychen’s got a thing for necrophelia.

haha. just thought it was quite interesting.

plus this political science article assignment has me bored and it’s been extremely quiet around here.

we just have to wait out those 7 agonizing months until it’s acceptance time. I don’t care how grueling Spring semester is; as soon as I find out where I get in, things are going to be looking up.

i hear you buddy, i am the exact same way, I’m even trying to make an “early move”, by gathering funds now.

I live in Irvine. Is it republican? No, its actually Democratic majority city; our mayor is a Democratic – far far opposite from the previous poster of being “tea party”. Irvine is also filled with a lot of college educated people. You’ll see a lot of flags on the porch of the university they went to. My neighborhood has a UCSB, UCLA, USC, and etc flags hanging around. So, this makes us FAR, FAR, from racism in Orange County. Costa Mesa has more racism, there is a white supremacist group in that area and I walked by one of their members (he had the swasitka and SS tattoo’s). But Costa Mesa is known to be a lower-middle/working class area.

However, the entire Irvine is privately owned by a corporate company called “The Irvine Company”. That’s right, so if you own a home in Irvine then you only own that house for 99 years and the land that the house sits on DOES NOT BELONG TO YOU. The city is a planned city, meaning everything was planned before it was built.

1.)Irvine does not allow homeless people, they arrest them for solicitation.
2.)Police will roll you down fast in this city, unless you live in a secluded neighborhood with thick walls.
3.) Safe city, you see people walking their dogs by themselves at night time. Something you don’t see in other cities. You can go out in night and into any neighborhood since there is no such thing as a ‘bad part of town’.
4.) Irvine IS a boring city because things get rolled fast. But police are more lenient in and around UCI campus because they understand we’re college kids.
5.) Irvine has to be ‘clean’ and ‘the way it is’, they clean up everything and instantly the moment that something is not right. This city is one of the cleanest cities I’ve lived in.

Is Irvine racist? Nope – far from it. The only racism I have encounter were by high school kids. This is true because they got nothing else to do – most of them become druggies.

wow. i was actually thinking of attempting to establish a “family mark” in Irvine, after reading the first half of your post…sorta makes me a bit uneasy.

^^It’s fine. People are chill and relaxed here. Like I said, I’ve experience only 1 time racism by high school kids when they were drunk. Where are you coming from btw? If you are looking to party, stay at UCI. Partying anywhere else will get a police on your door.

I’m coming from stockton, california.

i am not looking to party. maybe ill travel to LA and enjoy that “The Hills” lifestyle, but i want to live where the murder rate is low and city is safe. i need a break from consistent homicides.

^^Then Irvine is a really good place for you if your looking for a really safe city.

yes my main focus.

how are the beaches?

Beaches are nice, but not nice like Hawaii’s if that’s what your asking for. lol

hey kitty, are you also looking into uop, i heard they have a good pharmacy program

i possibly am, but my focus right now is to get through undergrad, ha.

i have also heard pharmacy is dwindling. plus i want to leave stockton SO BAD!
