Racial Remarks

my dad told me today that there is a professor at the university who's been accused of racial remarks and isn't receiving and punishment? It sounds absurd but I just wanted to know if anyone hear can clarify that for me. Thanks

Is he referring to the Professor Thomas issue from this semester?

A professor canceled class after he saw a student texting in the front row. It was the second time he canceled class in 5 days. He later sent out an email to students and the chancellor among others saying that the incident was the second time non-white students had disrespected him in his class (the texter was Cuban, in another incident two students playing tic-tac-toe in the front row were Latino).
That's the basic version. He's a tenured professor and the chancellor and dean did not deem the comment grounds for firing.

Professor Thomas is someone whom I will never forget. I wish that I could retake his course, simply for the sake of listening to his lectures and his arguments. I still have notes from his lectures and I have no plans of getting rid of it any time soon.

I hope that you can withhold your judgements about him until you get to know him yourself. The course that he is known for is PHI 191. He has his own blog as well, moralhealth.com. I definitely recommend that you take his course before graduating SU.
