Raising My ACT Score

I took the ACT at the beginning of my freshman year of high school and I am now a junior. I am taking the ACT on Tuesday at school and I am totally freaking out! I need to get at least a 27.

I am planning on going to LSU (which is not hard to get into), but I would like to qualify for out of state scholarships.

I got a 19 my freshman year.

Nothing can beat practice. And staring up studying. Until you hit 27-30 studying is what you really need to do. Find practice tests. McGraw Hill’s 10 ACT tests, The Real guide to the act, or find more online by googling act booklet PDF.

Well you only have a few days left so at this point you are best off relaxing and just giving it your best shot now.

If you are really serious about getting a high score and potential scholarships, try studying for 2 to 3 months and then taking the test in the Fall.

Either way, you should see this current version of the test as an opportunity to get experience and learn about handling high-pressure situations. Good luck!

Missed the part about the test on Tuesday. I’d thoroughly read this guide: <a href=“Jeandevaches' Guide to the ACT - ACT Preparation - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/act-preparation/1071765-jeandevaches-guide-to-the-act-p1.html</a></p>

Even if you were to strictly follow his rules on guessing, you could do reasably.

Good news! Due to “bad weather” the test was moved to April 1st! I have an extra week to study. I do have the 2012 Princeton Review book but I don’t even know where to start… :-/ :((

I take a section per night, timed. Then I review what i got wrong. You can still get a lot of practice in!

How did you know that is what I just did! I got 36/40 on a reading practice test.
