Hi! I’m a freshman hoping to take the June SAT. I have to take it for admission to a residential high school.
Right now, I’m at a 1260 composite- 610 math, 650 reading/english.
Is it possible to raise my score by 200 or so points by June? If so, how can I do that? What are the best ways to raise a score by a considerable amount?
Oh, I should mention the 1260 was from a practice test. The only standardized test I’ve taken was the SSAT, and I scored a 2300, but obviously that doesn’t matter for this.
It’s possible, but you have to study diligently. The best way to raise your score is to consistently practice on Khan Academy since they are he ones making the test to begin with. Dedicating one full hour of complete focus and studying on reading or math for three to five consecutive days on Khan Academy can be very effective. When you take practice tests on Khan Academy, it’s essential for you to review your mistakes and understand why the right answer is correct. Using this method repeatedly will help in accomplishing your goal. I studied over the summer for my SAT and by using this method, I raised my score by 130 points from my previous SAT. Good luck!
