Ram Village Apts - Transfer United LLC

Is anyone here interested in doing this Junior transfer living arrangement? Does anyone know how the rooms are? I know this is a new thing for the upcoming academic year, but does anyone know what these LLCs are like socially?

I'm an OOS transfer and I don't really know anyone at UNC so I figured this would be a good thing to do, but I'm a bit concerned about living on south campus as an upperclassman since a lot of people seem to say it's less social down there.

Any insight is appreciated!

I’m in the same position as you, I’m OOS and I’m probably going to do transfer united, I figured it can’t hurt any! I found out a little about it, TU students live in a four person bedroom but everyone gets their own room. I don’t think you’d have to worry about it being social, its a new program so you’d be grouped with a bunch of other transfers and im sure everyone will be social.

I really wanted to do this, but I found out I’m technically still a sophomore, credit wise.

I cannot tell you about the program, but I can say a little about Ram Village. Yes, it’s south campus, but it’s mainly juniors and seniors living in the apartments.

They are nice and fairly new. Kitchens, bathrooms, sitting room, etc are all very typical.

You’ll still have an RA and community events, but the fact that your bedroom door does not open to the hallway will probably make socializing with the neighbors a little more challenging.

If your living in an LLC that’s all transfers (which is what I think you’re saying) that sounds like an awesome idea. I’ve known I few transfers that have said it’s tough finding where they fit it at Carolina, and living with a bunch of other people in the same boat sounds like it will be helpful.

The only problem for me is that its 2000 dollars more a year, and i didn’t get much FA and I’m paying for my education and a couple thousand is a lot.

It is? Well, I’m not as bummed anymore. I’m starting to feel like I’d be better off living off campus.

Ram Village is more expensive anyway. When I looked into it, dorms were actually the cheapest route for me to go. And coming from a cc, I’m excited for the college experience of a dorm!

I found out Transfers United only accepts 25 people. It doesn’t seem too worth it, plus the extra lecture class you have to take. If you live in upper upperclassman housing, I don’t see why you wouldn’t meet a bunch of people. Plus there’s that t-links transfer thing. I got an email but I haven’t looked at it!

Snogintheloo, where did you hear that Transfer United only accepts 25 people? I had no idea that was the case (I assumed it would be much bigger). That’s very disappointing to me.
