Ramapo College

It's a public LAC. Can someone offer some comments on this school?

I applied and was accepted at immediate decision day. The school is pretty underrated if you ask me. They're often overshadowed by TCNJ. The campus has a pretty laid back feeling. Its not uncommon to see students walking around in sweatpants. Everyone was really friendly there. The average SAT score is about 1180. Not bad for a state school at all. If you have specific questions, feel free to PM me.

Ramapo has improved enormously in recent years -- its affordable and has some great faculty, which is helped by its location so close to New York. Very friendly, in a pretty and convenient location, and some great programs -- primarily a liberal arts college but with some preprofessional offerings.

When i visted, i drove past the dorms and they were extremely cramped looking from the outside. You know those POD comercials with the PODS that you put on trucks, the dorm looked like those stacked up and in rows.

It is in a sururban/rural area with a nice walking path nearby, and it is also just minutes off the higway and about 30 minutes from a mall.

I have a D who graduated in '06 and my 2nd D is a freshman. Both are very happy with the professors, student body, dorms and college life. I'll be glad to try to answer any questions.

offers good merit aid from what ive heard

This college is about 15 minutes from my house, and my cousin attended. If anyone has any location questions or other things, feel free to pm me as well.
