So I was in the middle of my third body paragraph when I flipped to the third page and realized- that was all the space we were allotted for the essay. I had about 5-6 more minutes and could have written an amazing essay with a conclusion but when I asked the proctor about an additional sheet (like the ones they give you for the AP English Lang. Exam), she shrugged and said there was nothing she could do. I erased the second half of my third body paragraph and used the space to wrap up my essay (without a formal conclusion).

I talked to my friend who also ran out of space and he said he was given some sheet of paper that they send in with your answer book. Either he's lying, he got scammed, or I got scammed. What happened?

Your friend is lying, everyone is only allotted the space given in the answer booklet. Your case is unfortunate, but ah well there is always next time. I completely zoned out during my essay and just wrote 2 pages of total nonsense.
