Question, I would like suggestions for outdoor patio heat lamps, the type that are tall free standing ones

We have a “Fire Sense” tall unit. So far, we’ve been very happy with it. Seems well built. It came from Costco, but it was literally the last one locally.

They do not spread the heat very far, however. I’ve noticed most restaurants place tables between units. We only have one unit, and a small patio table placed on a 45 degree angle . The two seats closest the heater are quite comfortable. The two further seats also receive some heat, but not quite as comfortable. If you had multiple tables spaced around the heating unit, more people could enjoy the heat – but then you won’t be social distancing.

What was the date of the update here? I am having to endless scroll through my old bookmarked threads (now not bookmarked) in order to get to new posts. How many days ago now?

On my phone, if you tap the post number box at the bottom right, it pops up a scroll bar you can use to get right to the last post.

I feel like this place is making me crazy. LOL. The only way I can see that number box on my laptop is to bring up a reply window. Otherwise, it’s non-existent. Too funny. Thank you!! At least it’s a work around.

Why does this thread show as “Unpinned” now?

Nov 27, perhaps a date that will live in CC infamy. Four days after a promised relaunch that would take just a few hours. And, as of today, it is now 12 days with unresolved issues.

Anyone here have a remote starter system for their car? D would like one for xmas and I am trying to do some research on what to get.

I did not know I had one on my Jeep Grand Cherokee 2015 until one day I heard a motor noise in my garage and realized we mush have pressed the fob button.

New random question: why do companies make chocolate with salt/sea salt? I love chocolate but salted chocolate is just weird and IMO yukky. I don’t like salted sweet, or even semi or bittersweet chocolate. I just don’t get it.

It’s not fancy, but Eucerin Advanced repair works well.

I can’t stand salted chocolate either, but I know some people who love it. Taste buds are weird that they differ so much between people.

Salt is supposed to enhance sweetness. And bring out a richer chocolate flavor. Some add a little bit to coffee, too.

I love dark chocolate with sea salt! I think milk chocolate is yucky . To each her own!

I love milk and dark chocolate. Add almonds and I am a happier camper. But put salt on it, even a little bit, and— yuk!

I love all sorts of dark chocolate, except salted. We keep a stash of chocolate covered almonds in our refrigerator.

I don’t like salt on fruit either. My in-laws add it to watermelon. I wasn’t used to that, so gagged and couldn’t eat it the first time incredulous that anyone would even think about adding salt. H had to eat mine. Afterward he tried to be sure mine didn’t get salted as it was automatically added when cutting in his family. Now he prefers his without salt.

I don’t add salt to garden salads either.

Except for those things, I’m a salt person in the salt vs sweet wars. I’ll take ham or chips any day over cookies, pies, or other desserts. I don’t even like most donuts.

White chocolate, macadamia nut cookies are a definite “win” with my taste buds though. My sweet tooth is just very picky.

I think it’s just an opposites thing. I love chocolate with sea salt, sweet with sour, etc. My husband doesn’t like either combination.

I’m definitely a sweet person, but I don’t like most pastry. Cakes, pies, sweet rolls, etc., are too “cakey” for me. I like my sugar mostly unadorned – say, a Heath bar or a Butterfingers. A spoonful of honey is heaven for me.
