when should I start worrying about taking out student loans? And does anyone have information about that process? I'm really concerned about this...
Also, My sister got accepted to UCR straight from highschool and she received aid that granted her free student housing.
I'm alsmost sure I'll get into UCR too, but I'm also considering Irvine and Santa Cruz as well as Davis..
Do they offer free student housing aids for transfers?
your responses are greatly appreciated & i'm a n00b at this site so please help me
thank you

p.s. I just found out I got A's in my two four-unit classes... wooohoooo... still waiting on my other two three-unit classes.... :D

I believe they do! Just gotta ask around since I don’t know much.

For student loans, you go to a bank that is willing to loan you. That’s what I’m going to do…

can you get a loan through the college though?

Just fill out the fasfa in january, and send to the schools you applied to. After you get accepted you will get a financial aid award from the schools you got accepted to. It will tell you all the money that they will give out.

If you need more money, then you fill out the loan papers at your school financial office. You will be able to ask for a specific amount up to the federal loan limits.

[Student Aid on the Web](http://studentaid.ed.gov/PORTALSWebApp/students/english/studentloans.jsp#01)

Hope that helps.

You can get a personal loan through a bank but why would you. All school loans are under a federal program and have a very low interest rate that you won’t have to pay back until you drop out of school or graduate (subsidized loan).
