Cal Grant Questionnnn

So I'm happy that the UC's are as inexpensive as they are (relatively speaking)--but, they are STILL 26,000 dollars per year.

BUt...

I think I meet all of the requirements on it except for the whole "you must've been a CA resident when you graduated high school." That's where I panic.

wt.f!

Basically....is there any way around that!?

And what is the family income range because I cannot find it anywhere!

Thats not the requirement i believe there another way to prove residence like living in California for a year.

Also if you make under 70k a year the U.C blue and gold plan will cover all tuition cost which is around 11k~ and the 15000 extra you can get 3-5k from Pell grant then the rest you can get loans for.

IIRC there is a post on this forum from a first semester transfer that post their F.A package i can’t seem to find it

Jeremy,

I think that’s the requirement for HS to College students, not transfer students.

HMMMM…well we shall see, then! lol

i don’t know if that website clears it up but i couldn’t figure out your age so not sure which one applies to you

ahah thanks peter, buuut I’m 21 :(

Oh and what is the GPA requirment? Is it 2.0 or 3.0 or what? I read the requirments but I was a little confused. And is it possible to update your GPA after the March 2nd deadline? (My GPA is kind of low right now,but I’m taking a few classes to bring it up)

There are the normal cal-grant A-B-C

and there is the “competitive” cal grant a-b which have different requirements like cal grant A requires a 3.0+ gpa
