rank the SUNYs (general and for nursing)

Hi! I am from California but have recently gotten interested in the SUNYs, but I don't really know which are the better ones. Could someone please rank them for me? I am guessing Binghamton is the first, but that is about it.

By the way, I am interested in applying for nursing. Do you know which SUNY would be the best to apply to for that major?

thanks!

What can you tell me about Binghamton, Buffalo, and Plattsburgh?

I don't know really anything about these schools and any information would be much appreciated!

These are the SUNY's that have nursing:
Binghamton
Buffalo
Farmingdale
New Paltz
StonyBrook
Brockport
Plattsburgh

I think Binghamton is considered the top school in the group closely followed by Buffalo, StonyBrook and New Paltz. What sort of info are you looking for?

I would rate the SUNYs that offer nursing as follows:

Binghamton
Stony Brook
Buffalo
New Paltz
Brockport
Plattsburgh
Farmingdale

Now, I've rated them for their overall program, not for nursing specifically. Some very different schools in that bunch located in some very different parts of the state.

Where would you put Albany in the Suny rankings?

I would put Stony Brook's Nursing program on top of any of the programs at any of the four-year schools. We have the largest teaching hospital on Long Island -- and one of the top fifteen in the country -- right on campus. That's hard to beat.

Overall academically, it's probably Geneseo first (but they don't have nursing), then Stony Brook and Binghamton (we both admitted 43% of our freshman applicants this year). After that, it really depends on your program.
