Rank these universities by international prestige?

Before everyone grills me, i'm not going to decide on going to any of these universities solely, on prestige, however, i am interested in how they are viewed worldwide (particularly in East Asia):

-Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Brown, Penn and LSE (London School of Economics)

Columbia
London School of Economics
Cornell
Brown
Dartmouth
Penn

You can visit the world rankings to get a better idea.

I would put Cornell last.

And Columbia first.

Here are the 3 most prominent international rankings–and Penn would be at least in the middle of that list, if not higher, depending on ranking:

Columbia: #5
Brown: #16
Penn:#24
Dartmouth: #25
Cornell: #38
LSE: #40

Columbia has the highest international prestige out of all of these schools.

In Asia:
Columbia
Penn
Cornell
LSE
Dartmouth=Brown

In terms of global prestige, large research universities get the edge.
Check the ARWU website for details.

In Hong Kong (where i am from):

LSE=Columbia
Penn
Brown
Dartmouth (i don’t think anyone in Hong Kong will have heard about Dartmouth)

In UK (where i go to boarding school):
-LSE
-Columbia
-Brown (because of Emma Watson)
-Penn=Dartmouth

For mainland Chinese people, the rankings go something like this:

Wharton
Columbia
Cornell, Rest of Penn
LSE (Most people don’t like English schools beside Cambridge and Oxford)
Dartmouth
Brown

In general, Chinese people really like ivies… except Brown

Lol…
I guess I’m the odd man out…
The only Ivy I like is Brown =P

I’m from Hong Kong too. I would say British unis are more well known (being a former British colony and all that). Having said that, i think any top employer in Hong Kong would hold Ivy Leagues in high regard. However, here is a rough ranking amongst the public:

LSE>=Columbia>Brown>Penn=Cornell=Dartmouth

Columbia (super well known)
Cornell (great international rep)
LSE (prestigious but overshadowed by Cambridge/Oxford) = Penn (good rep, mostly on basis of business school)
Brown = Dartmouth (basically unknown outside US)

These rankings are mostly on the basis of family I have living in India, UK, Australia, and France. These are public reputation not employers. Employers will know all of these schools.
