Rate My EC's

So, I’m hoping to go to an Ivy League school, but I’ve been told my EC’s are “weak.” So naturally, I’d like more opinion on whether or not EC’s are “Ivy Material”.

Here they are:
Varsity Football (Decent, but not recruit-able)

Varsity Track (Same as above)

Officer in School Cultural Club (responsibilities included contacting and scheduling guest speakers like Michelle Jones, a US Foreign Service Officer)

Tutor at local elementary school (For two years now- Me and a few other guys were recommended by teachers to provide examples of leadership qualities for 6th grade students. We meet consecutively for 2-3 months every school year on Wednesdays)

I also tutor struggling high school students

National Security Language Initiative for Youth scholarship recipient. I will go to Morocco on a State Department scholarship to learn Arabic this summer and will return proficient in the language as a result (it is highly selective and very intensive). This scholarship is paid in full by the US State Dept.

NSLI-Y is an amazing program, and that shows your skills as a linguist. You should do your best to advance your language studies and show colleges you’re committed to language. Look into UPenn’s Huntsman program. It’s amazing. The other activities are just fillers, and the only thing that pops to me is NSLI-Y

Thanks @ryan100. I’m definitely gonna look into the Huntsman program. Although it’s at Wharton right? That’s gonna be a challenge to get haha.

Bump.

yep, it’s wharton. so just make sure you’re strong in math, and do your best to maximize your language abilities and i’m sure you’ll have no problem getting in

Bump. Anyone else have some thoughts?

You may have done a lot but these are the cliché activities so many kids do. If your ACT/SAT, essay and grades are high enough, then you have a good chance
