Would you guys consider these extracurriculars to be weak? Are they competitve for any schools like wesleyan, bard, northeastern?
I think it might help put things in perspective to mention that im low income.
I think they’re good for the schools you mention. Maybe try to get one more leadership position. Mentioning the low income situation will help. Good luck!
^^^ I agree with the above poster
Your ECs reflect a part of you that is very admirable, someone who works well in small communities (church, summer camp, a sports team, etc) which is a very important trait to have as far as LACs are concerned. But, I wouldn’t call them hooks exactly. A part-time job would be just as impressive going into your senior year, IMO.
@circuitrider Thank you! Im just a bit confused what youre referring to when you say “I wouldn’t call them hooks exactly”. And what would a part-time job be just as impressive as?
^^You’ve been asking the same question for about six months now and getting pretty much the same answer: your ECs aren’t that great. But, maybe they don’t have to be. Lots of colleges are looking for low-income/first generation college applicants and not all of them expect you to have a lot of free time after school. A poor kid helping to support himself is something that resonates with most adcoms, IMO.
