Are my exracurriculars weak?

Church member and volunteer 9-12 (Leader of club in 11th and 12th grade) Club that manages flyers and announcements and handouts and activities for the church
Christian Summer Camp 9-12 1wk camp in the summer; various volunteer activities like helping out in homeless shelters, renovating abandoned homes, etc. for ~30hrs/summer
Scholarship for summer program on college campus where I took college classes and received credits for them
Volunteer at a physical therapy clinic 11-12 1hr/week
Free creative art workshop associated with HWS College 11-12 in the fall

Would you guys consider these extracurriculars to be weak? Are they competitve for any schools like wesleyan, bard, northeastern?

Also it might help to note that I am low income

not weak at all

@bubblepop12444 Would you still say so in comparison to people who are applying to schools like wesleyan and haverford? And thanks for the response!

Especially if you’re looking at soccer scholarships, those sound like fairly strong ECs. Colleges look at what you’ve accomplished in the context of what has been available to you, and being so involved in your community as a low income person is impressive. I wouldn’t really consider the college preparation program an EC, though.

Search this site for decision threads from those schools. After CCers get results from certain colleges, they start a thread where everyone basically posts what their application was, including ECs.

@catsss Thanks! I definitely will do that. But the summer scholarship had nothing to do with soccer, unfortunately. Does that make my EC’s any worse, even it’s by a little bit?

Looks like someone might be fishing for compliments here… But whatever, everyone on CC, myself included do this from time to time. Your Extracurriculars are great and I think you realize that. Besides, doing what interests you is way more important than what I (or a college) thinks about it.

@Wrennn I understand why you might think that, but I meant to ask if they were weak in comparison to applicants to the schools I mentioned (idk if I made that clear). Also, I think part of why I made this post was because I found that I have been having a lot more free time lately, and I thought maybe that was a sign that I wasn’t being as productive as I could have been.
Also, I was asking because I don’t have any notable awards/leadership roles and also my EC’s don’t have a clear focus (something that people in the past have pointed out to me).
Nevertheless, thank you for your feedback!
