Ok i want to go to a school like caltech or MIt for either engineering or computer science (not sure wether id perfer pc hardware or pc software yet). Please tell me what you think of my ECs and rate them 1-10. Please note im an incoming sophmore at TOHS.

ECs

Plan on over 100 hours of community service (20 already)

Became comptia A+ certified (certified pc techician) at 15

Member of CSF (requires 3.5gpa and 10 hours of com. service a semester)

Getting a job at the geeksquad my 10th-11th grade summer(may stay longer)

Plan on taking more technician tests from comptia.org(network+, project+,etc)
*Bussiness and IT (Computer technician emphasis) Academy student
---Academy program includes job shadowing, internships, and interveiws of professionals. Also includes feild trips to bussinesses, museums, klibraries etc focused on my topic. My focus is on computers and bussiness (however at any time if i choose i may go into the engineering academy)
*Creator and President of FCEF (future computer engineer forum) This is a club i am making this year (10th grade) where we discuss new and upcoming technologies and design (realistic) products ourselves.
*TOHS holiday donation drive . I am also creating this group this year were every month we will run a food drive, clothe drive, toy drive, etc to help those in need. Proceeds go to mana, food share, make a wish etc. I have aa partner ship with food share already.

Cant really count...yet

*Starting to program so ill have some programming ECs hopefully!
* Working on a new product , and im hoping to sign a deal with companies like samsung for them too sell it, but of course cant really count this one
*Self taught myself geometry by taking it online (not sure if colleges care or not)
* Was 5th class president, not sure if colleges care because some people say it does matter while other say they dont really consider it a good sign

Um . . . ECs depend on what you put into them, not what they are. Let's take FCEF. Participate in it all 4 years, do tons of things with it, revolutionize your community . . . somehow with it. It's a 10. However, minimal participation? Doing it for colleges? Then it would be as low as 1. It all depends on what you do in the EC, how much dedication you really show by doing a particular EC.

Now, that being said, go off and get ready for school/continue doing well in school. You're too young to be worrying yourself at college discussion forums, trust me.

1) Community service : Most of it has thus far been meaningful. I actually raised 508lbs of food for the homeless 6 months ago.
2) A+ required me to go to an adult school to take the test. Very few teens pass the test, as its for professionals .
3) CSF work hard to keep gpa above 3.5. No real leadership role in the club however. Meetings every month.
4) Dont know if ill get promoted but im more skilled than many geekquad employees at my local bestbuy.
5) Comptia tests are to early to tell
6) Academy. I will graduate the academy with all the reqired hours (internship, interveiws etc). No leadership role possible.
7) FCEF. Will create, take the main leadership role, and take active particiation in all 3 years. I willl hold meetings evey friday.
8) TOHS Drive. Will create, take the main leadership role, and actively participate in. I will hold meetings every other thursday.

9) Programmings way to early to tell.
10) Product is way to early to tell.
11) I got an A on both semesters. I understand geometry very well.
12) Some people still call me "Mr. President". I did a very good job at raisng school spirit, but it was 5th grade so nothing VERY meaning full happened. But i did learn how to speak publically from it.

do something to set yourself apart. i think i have pretty good breadth for my ec's (3 sport athlete/debater/student government) but also depth (a lot for each) try to do both. pick an activity you absolutely love!

Well i love all these and thats why im creating two clubs (which i will enjoy). The only clubs i dont love terribly are CSF (we dont do much but get special stuff at graduation, but its a good way to make sure i keep my gpa up), and National Honor society (or wtv its called), because at this point i dont know what they doexcept being a leader and having a 3.5 gpa.
