I know it is not the most important thing, or even close to it, but is there still a rat/roach problem at Georgetown?
I don’t know about this, but it’s such a great choice, who can blame the rats. It’s a top choice for all!
I have heard that there is a rat problem at the Georgetown Law School campus on Capital Hill.
You’re fine. All the rats are found in the Capitol building.
I agree with all of you! :))

All jokes aside though, yeah there definitely is a mice/roach problem, especially in the older dorms. You’ll learn to cope though and Georgetown is by no means alone amongst colleges for having this problem. Especially in the winter when it’s cold outside, there can be issues with mice and roaches. It helps if you clean regularly but in such close quarters you can’t always control what your neighbors will do. Still, Georgetown is amazing and the mice/roach problem is a very minor part of an incredible school.

Trapped the little bugger and drowned it

My son and his roommates named their mice.
Killed 11 mice in 1 year. It’s pretty bad, especially over in Henle
I just read in The Hoya within the last 2 issues of the horrendous rat problem on campus and in D.C. in general. I will see if I have the link.
The article about the rats on campus is here:

I’m living in Darnall, which is what many consider to be the “worst” freshman dorm, and so far I haven’t seen any mice or rats. We’ll see whether or not it lasts, since I do know a couple people who have seen them in their dorms.
This is disgusting!
Thanks! @Winky1
It’s so horrifying! @-) @masquerade98
I draw a distinction between rats and mice. I remember the size of the rats I used to see down on the Vancouver waterfront when I was working in the grain elevators. Nobody who saw one of those would ever call it a mouse.
Unfortunately, Rats are common in DC, particularly in areas with lots of commerce (they like restaurants!) like Georgetown. I used to see them often when I worked in bars while in Uni. You get used to them after a while and they don’t tend to bother people.
@HopefulHoya1103 It’s an old school, and that’s one of the drawbacks of going to schools that have been around longer like Georgetown and some of the older Ivies. Facilities usually is on top of it–they’ll bring in the exterminator every so often to kill mice/rats/cockroaches. Generally they don’t bother you much, and if you keep your smellables sealed up and your room clean, they’ll keep clear.
