I am planning on taking either RC spanish or french next semester and I need some way to choose. I am not afraid of the work by the way, because I am good at languages.

How are both programs run? Is one program considered better than the other? What are the structure of the 2 different classes (I know RC Japanese, for example, only has around 10 students or so, so its a close group and they benefit a lot from being so small)? How big are they? Any other info would be appreciated.

From what I’ve heard from my D’s friends, I would say take French. I’m sure both are good programs, just I’ve heard students enjoy the French program more than the Spanish. My D took RC German and it was a great experience for her.

If I’m correct, I believe that all RC language courses are intensive and require participation at lunch tables or coffees. When my D took RC German, she had class 4 times a week in the morning and afternoon, plus the lunches and coffees. I think all the RC language classes are small and most form very close knit groups.
