@motortrend I feel sympathy for your situation now. The Global Scholarship is the only financial aid package I received. Although it’s quite generous ($19k), the total fees are still too high for an international student from middle-income family like me.
@Hosley17 I’m sorry to hear that, and I wish you success in your future university. I was in the same boat as you when applying to WPI and MIT. Getting into top-choice college with strong engineering programs is increasingly difficult.
@rualum I know that it’s somewhat an irrelevant question, but can I submit my financial documents and ask for more? I haven’t submitted any financial stuff to my student portal yet. I appreciate your help in advance.
@MangroveForests same here. Pretty good Merit but not enough to make it affordable
Son accepted with 19k scholarship - trying to decide between Stevens and WPI for computer science!
Does anyone know when transfer decisions would be released also? I was expecting the same time as regular decisions, but nothing shows in my portal.
I would go with WPI
Son received 36K per year. Leaves 30K. Nice package, but hard to justify when UBuffalo is 20K with scholarship, plus tuition free with HESC STEM incentive, leaving only 13K.
@MangroveForests yes, you can ask for more. Not sure what they will say, but I would.
@lutherls 13k is tough to beat, as long as he wants to go there.
Accepted with 25,000 a year in merit money! Also invited to the Pinnacle Scholar’s Program.
My D was accepted and also invited to the Pinnacle Scholar’s Program. She would love to go to Stevens. Now, we just need to decide if we can swing it financially.
As the parent of a current freshman, I wanted to chime in as you make your decisions, especially Pinnacle Scholars. Daughter loves Stevens even after uneven first semester. Generous financial package and Pinnacle Scholar. DD is deciding between summer research or taking a class with her Pinnacle Scholars stipend. Just got her off-campus housing assignment for next year through the lottery - new building with 3 roommates, 1/2 mile from campus, with its own fitness center, pool and hot tub. Close to light rail line. Very nice. Was a varsity athlete, but will only help out with team next year from time to time (too hard being engineering student, varsity athlete and Pinnacle Scholar) Mom and Dad are happy with Stevens, too. We are not from the area and use our frequent flyer miles to visit whenever we get the chance.
