of course, as you will be close to LA and Vegas, your friends and family can and would probably want to visit you here! if you've lived on the east coast all your life, i imagine college is a great time to explore a new geography with new friends... that's why i am strongly considering my east coast acceptances right now as i'm from so-cal.

Twice a year--winter and summer, at least with both kids (one now at Pomona and the other a grad of UCLA). Thanksgiving's too close to winter break, and Family Weekend's too close to spring break.

i'm still waiting too. then again, my town never sorts the mail so hopefully i'll get it by fri.
question, how many of y'all interviewed? were any of you deferred from ED?

I didn't interview (wasn't even sure where I'd be applying in December, when we were supposed to request one).

I just got the packet today (lovely folder and envelope)...the financial aid really just blew the socks off of any other college that I've been accepted to. I thought Brown's offer was pretty generous, but Pomona's is simply amazing!

It's going to be really hard to decide between Pomona and Brown...I love both schools so much, and the schools were both so nice to me. I think I'm going to have to cry a long while after rejecting one of the offers.

I interviewed. And I was not at all happy with the way my interview went. The interviewer was a bit rude, and I didn't really do a stellar job. Of the 7 interviews I did, it was by far the worst. Because of this I figured I wouldn't get in, but I still did. Looking back on it, the interview wasn't exactly terrible, I guess it was just pretty dull compared to the awesome interviews I did with most of the other schools I applied to.

Hey, can anyone explain why people on the East Coast... and some of my classmates here in KS... have already received acceptances AND waitlistings... and I haven't?

i interviewed and I heard they can really help. I'm really hoping out for pomona, my gpa isn't the lowest in their applicant pool (of this I am sure) but my act wasn't the best. I did have strong sat iis though. I applied to media studies and my college list ended up being half film schools and half lib. arts colleges/universities. But the liberal arts colleges (who I though twould like me more) haven't liked me at all, and the film schools like me. If I don't get into pomona, I think it is a sign from above.

I have to decide between Pomona and Brown, too, except I have Cornell and Wash U thrown in the mix. Any opinions? I could use all the help I can get!
