Given that something like 89% of last year's freshman got aid of one sort or another, the fact that the very few who have reported here have received it tells you very little.

Well, don't get your hopes down too much. I got mine a day later than the first poster, who lives in New York. I live in Iowa, 2.5 hrs from Grinnell. So, maybe our beloved government postal system is just working a bit oddly :P

It could be a lower % this year given the economic state.
I know of several other schools that started dribbling out acceptances before the official date - all of them had aid packages - most of the remaindered apps did not have aid or were denied. It would be nice if Grinnell was "different" in this respect as well. We can hope.

theorymom, don't overanalyze. Most people assume the unassumable and end up with a major headache.

Some people have received letters, but it doesn't mean no one received a rejection. Some people are too embarrassed to post rejections unless it is a common trend. (Which it is not)

HA! easier said than done

I agree with quazwsx, don't overanalyze. We're all stressed enough let's just see how it plays out, we'll know soon enough.

If I get a rejection, I promise I'll post that I did.

I try not to worry about the fact that I have seven letters coming within the next five days. If a stresscase like me can do it, anyone can.

Ha ha same situation, totally agreed.

Our son got his acceptance package today with a $15K/year merit scholarship. That is the ONLY financial aid offered however, so we will compare when his other acceptances (if any!) come in.

Good luck everyone!

I'm innnnnnnnnn. :D

My Son got the packet today with pretty nice (REALLY nice actually) compensation. What a relief....... Even my wife is happy!!!!

We have one more school to hear from (CMC tomorrow) and then it's decision time.....his decision time.

BTW - We are in California for those that are tracking where the packets are arriving via snail mail.....

did you guys get a tracking information from the mailing company via e-mail, before receiving the mail???

Do you think the fact that I haven't received anything in the mail yet has to do with the fact that i checked the box that said "do not send me anything paper only by email" on the commonapp? I didn't think that would apply to admissions notices at the time...

I never thought of that! I checked that box too and haven't recieved anything yet. Well decisions should be online tomorrow right?

I really hope that is the case, because right now I'm scared out of my mind I will be rejected or waitlisted. Since I am a needy student waitlist would probably be a rejection in this economy... omg i am sooo stressed. I love grinnell more and more each day. I would kill to go there!!!

AHHH i just checked pioneerweb and it said decisions will be up on the 28th, didn't is used to say the 27th?????????

AHHHH

WHY GRINNELL WHY??????

FML

i just noticed the same thing!

I got in !!!!

I received a call by Grinnell College while I wasn't home. My mom just listened to the answering machine saying: somebody for you called, the only thing I understood was Congratulation.

Can't say anything about financial aid though, haven't received the admission package yet.
